The house portrait was commissioned by Cathy Bauguss as a gift to her client, Evelyn Worthington.  Cathy was a member of the design team that worked on the project to build a house in the Victorian style on the property.  "At the beginning of the project," Cathy recalls, "Mrs. Worthington knew she wanted a Victorian house ... and remembered a home she admired as a young woman.  The home had gone through several changes (including a funeral home) and ultimately became the Blacksburg (Virginia) Museum.  We obtained the footprint of the house from the museum and went from there to creat her own personal environment."
